Downtown Boise is filled with historic architecture and cultural attractions like First Thursday, an evening Art exhibition put on by Downtown Boise shops and galleries. Highlights include Idaho's State Capitol Building, Velma Morrison Center For the Performing Arts, Boise Public Library, Boise State University, St. Luke's Hospital, Boise Art Museum, Boise Little Theatre, Fulton Street Theatre, St. John's Cathedral, Cathedral of The Rockies, the ecclectic Hyde Park neighborhood, and numerous parks including Julia Davis Park. Boise High School is Boise's oldest High School located in Boise's historic North End district. A wide range of academic opportunities exist simply because of Boise High's proximity to Downtown Boise culture, as well as the many nearby Idaho state government areas, Ada County offices, and Boise City Municipal services, parks, and essential public services.
Idaho Landmarks of interest include City of Rocks and Shoshone Falls in South Central Idaho, and the Old Idaho Penitentiary.
The Oregon Trail cris-crosses the state, marked at points with historic interest areas such as Oregon Trail Reserve.
