Landmark: Old Idaho State Penitentiary

The Old Idaho State Penitentiary was built in 1870 as single cell house, then grew into complex of several buildings surrounded by high stone walls. Convicts did all later construction. Listed in the National Historic Registry July 17, 1974, this landmark served as Idaho's prison for over 100 years. |
